Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Duezo. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Duezo.

What Duezo is

Duezo is a tracking and reminder tool for bills and Buy Now Pay Later installments. You enter what you owe — by hand, or by selecting a document for Smart Scan to read — and Duezo counts it down and reminds you before it is due.

Duezo is free to use. Adding bills and Pay Later plans by hand is unlimited. Smart Scan — reading a document you select and turning it into fields — is metered. An auto-renewing subscription, Duezo Pro, increases that allowance. Section 11 sets out the subscription terms.

Duezo is not a bank

Duezo is not a bank, lender, money transmitter, payment processor or financial institution, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any biller or Buy Now Pay Later provider you track.

Duezo does not process payments and does not move money. If you save a payment link, opening it takes you to that provider’s own website or app, where the transaction happens entirely between you and them. Duezo has no way to know whether a payment completed. Marking something as paid in Duezo records your own statement that you paid it; it is not a confirmation from the provider and it does not settle anything.

Duezo does not provide financial, tax, legal or investment advice.

Accuracy is yours to check

Duezo shows the information you entered, or the information an AI model extracted from a document you chose.

Smart Scan can be wrong. It can misread an amount, a name or a date, it can miss information entirely, and it can misinterpret an unclear or unusual document. Results are always presented for your review before anything is saved, and you are responsible for checking that the amounts, names and dates are correct.

Reminders are not guaranteed

Reminders and notifications depend on Apple’s push infrastructure, your network connection, your device settings, your operating system, and background scheduling outside Duezo’s control.

Duezo does not guarantee that any reminder will be delivered, delivered on time, or delivered at all. Treat reminders as a convenience and not as your only safeguard for a payment you cannot afford to miss.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account, and you agree to tell us promptly about unauthorised use. Provide accurate information when you register. Accounts are for individual use.

You must meet the minimum age required by the App Store listing for Duezo in your territory.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Duezo for any unlawful purpose;
• attempt to access another user’s data or account;
• interfere with, disrupt or overload the service or its infrastructure;
• probe, scan or test the security of the service without permission;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the source code, except where the law permits;
• scrape or extract data by automated means;
• resell, sublicense or redistribute access.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms.

Your content and our property

The bills, plans and other information you enter remain yours. You grant Duezo only the permission it needs to store that information, display it back to you, and provide the reminder and scanning features you use.

Duezo — including the name, the D mark, the DUEZO wordmark, the app’s design, its text and its code — belongs to Duezo and is protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of it to you.

Names of billers and Buy Now Pay Later providers are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe what you can track.

Availability, warranty and liability

Duezo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages and unforeseen failures can occur, and features may change or be withdrawn.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Duezo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, late fees, interest or penalties, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Ending your use

You may stop using Duezo at any time and delete your account from Settings ▸ Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms, for unlawful use, or where required by law. We may discontinue Duezo; if we do, we will give reasonable notice where practical.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in the app, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use Duezo after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.

Smart Scans and Duezo Pro

11.1 What Smart Scan costs

Duezo is free to use, and adding bills and Pay Later plans by hand is unlimited. Smart Scan is metered because each scan costs money to run.

11.2 What counts as one Smart Scan

One submission you make is one Smart Scan. Scanning a bill counts as one scan. Submitting a Pay Later plan counts as one scan, including when that submission contains more than one screenshot.

11.3 The free allowance

A free account starts with 5 Smart Scans and receives 1 additional Smart Scan each month. Unused scans remain available, but the free balance cannot exceed 5 — once you hold 5, the monthly grant does not increase it further.

11.4 Duezo Pro pricing

Duezo Pro is offered at:

• $3.99 per month, or
• $29.99 per year, with an introductory price of $19.99 for the first year.

Prices are in US dollars. Prices in other territories are set by Apple’s regional pricing and may differ. There is no free trial at launch.

11.5 The introductory offer

The $19.99 first-year price applies to the annual plan, once, for eligible new subscribers as determined by Apple. After the introductory year, the subscription renews at the standard annual price of $29.99 unless you cancel. Eligibility, and whether the offer is available to you, is determined by the App Store and not by Duezo.

11.6 The Pro allowance

Duezo Pro includes 20 Smart Scans each billing month. The allowance resets at the start of each billing month.

11.7 Scans do not roll over

Unused Pro Smart Scans expire at the end of each billing month and are not carried forward, refunded or exchanged.

11.8 Billing and automatic renewal

Duezo Pro is a subscription that renews automatically. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and your Apple Account is charged again for the next period within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the then-current price for your plan, unless you cancel first. Duezo does not receive or store your payment card details; the transaction is between you and Apple.

11.9 Cancelling

You may cancel at any time in iOS Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions, or at the equivalent App Store subscription settings. Cancelling must be done at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and it does not by itself produce a refund. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s own policies.

11.10 Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall Duezo or sign in on another device, use Restore purchases in Duezo Settings to re-apply an active subscription bought with the same Apple Account.

11.11 When a subscription ends

If your subscription expires, lapses, or is cancelled, your account returns to the Free tier at the end of the paid period. When that happens:

• your bills, Pay Later plans, history and reminders are unaffected and remain yours — nothing is deleted and nothing is locked;
• any unused Pro Smart Scans from that billing month are lost;
• your Smart Scan allowance returns to the free allowance in 11.3;
• Pro-only widget sizes stop updating and revert to the free widget.

11.12 Price changes

We may change prices or allowances. A change to the price of a subscription you already hold will not take effect without notice, and, where Apple requires it, your consent before the next renewal is charged. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before the next renewal.

11.13 When a Smart Scan is and is not used

• A technical failure does not use a scan. If a scan cannot complete for a technical reason — the upload fails, the network drops, or the extraction service is unavailable or returns an error — that attempt does not count against your allowance.
• A completed scan uses one, even if the result is poor. If Duezo returns a result for you to review, that scan is used, including when the result is incomplete or the model reports low confidence in it. You received a reviewable result, and the cost of producing it was incurred. Editing, correcting, rejecting or discarding that result does not return the scan to your allowance.
• Smart Scan is not guaranteed to be accurate. Section 03 applies to every scan, whether or not it consumed an allowance.

11.14 Changes to what Pro includes

Features included in Duezo Pro may change over time. We will not remove a materially significant feature from a subscription you already hold without notice.
